How to control usage data sharing
One switch for the usage data the setup wizard asked about — exactly what it sends, and how to withdraw it at any time.
The setup wizard asks whether xSpeed may send usage data to WPDeveloper each time it runs. Privacy & usage data is where that answer lives afterwards — to check what you agreed to, or to withdraw it without hunting through the wizard again.
Where to find it
- In your WordPress admin, click xSpeed Cache in the left menu.
- In the xSpeed Cache sidebar, open the Settings group.
- Click the Privacy & usage data card.
Shortcut: open
wp-admin/admin.php?page=xspeed#/settings/privacydirectly.✅ This panel is part of xSpeed Cache (Free).

- Share usage data — the single switch. It is on if you applied the setup wizard with Help improve xSpeed left switched on, or turned it on here.
Settings at a glance
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Share usage data | Off | Sends site, environment and feature data to WPDeveloper. |
How it works
The switch governs one thing: whether xSpeed sends a periodic snapshot of how the plugin is being used. Off is the default for the stored setting. The setup wizard asks the same question with Help improve xSpeed switched on, and clicking Apply & Continue with it on turns sharing on, so switch it off there first if you’d rather not share. Either way, this switch is where you change the answer afterwards.
It is not anonymous. The snapshot contains:
- Your site’s URL, name and language, and its WordPress and PHP versions
- The email address and display name of the admin who opted in
- Server software, the active theme, and your active and inactive plugins
- Which xSpeed features are on, with their on/off and numeric settings
It never includes page content, visitor data, or anything identifying your readers — and never the text you type into settings: exclusion lists, URLs, API keys, tokens and licence keys are all dropped before sending. This is about which features get used on which kinds of install, so the plugin is developed around what people actually run.
Turning it off stops collection and clears the scheduled send, so there is no queued report waiting to go out after you change your mind.
Withdrawing consent later
Switching it off here is the whole process — the setting is the consent record, and there’s nothing else to revoke. You can also do it from the command line, which is handy across several sites:
wp xspeed privacy # show the current setting
wp xspeed privacy disable # withdraw consent
💡 This is separate from AI Privacy. They sound similar and govern different things. This switch is about xSpeed’s own usage statistics, sent to WPDeveloper. AI Privacy decides whether xSpeed’s AI features may record anything about your visitors, and it applies even before Pro is installed. Turning one off does not affect the other.
