The story
Elena is a counsellor in private practice. Her site is deliberately plain: a photograph, a page about how she works, her training, and a contact form. There is nothing to buy and nothing to browse. It is read by people at the exact moment they are talking themselves out of getting in touch.
It was also on cheap shared hosting with a bloated theme, and it took six seconds to show a paragraph. Six seconds is enough time to close a tab you were already unsure about opening.
Nothing about the design changed. The pages are cached as static HTML, the theme’s unused styles no longer ship, and the contact form is excluded so submissions always go through. It is the same quiet site — it just no longer asks for patience from people who have none to spare.
