The story
The Fairview Inn gets compared to a booking platform every single time — guests open the hotel’s own site and Booking.com side by side. The OTA is engineered by a thousand people to load instantly. If the inn’s site hesitates, the OTA takes the booking and fifteen percent.
Marek, who owns the inn, couldn’t out-engineer an OTA. He didn’t need to: his site had one job — room photos, availability, and a “book direct” button, faster than a guest’s patience. The booking engine iframe stays live; everything around it had no reason not to be static.
Direct bookings crept up two commission-free points that quarter. The site didn’t get prettier. It got there sooner.
