Connect your sites to xSpeed Hub

Attach each WordPress site running xSpeed Cache to your free xSpeed Hub account: one click from the plugin, or a site token when the site cannot redirect.

xSpeed Hub is the free hosted companion to xSpeed Cache. This page covers attaching your WordPress sites to your Hub account. To connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to those sites afterwards, see xSpeed Hub MCP.

What attaching does

Each site you attach appears in your Hub dashboard: a fleet overview ranking every site worst-first, daily monitoring snapshots with Slack and email alerts, per-site speed-report history, teams with roles, and remote settings. The Hub reaches each site through that site’s own xSpeed Cache MCP endpoint, using the site’s own credential.

Attached sites are also the sites your AI assistant can reach through xSpeed Hub MCP.

Requirements

  • A free account at app.xspeedcache.com.
  • xSpeed Cache 1.1.0 or later active on each site you want to attach.
  • You must be an administrator on the WordPress site to attach it.

Connect a site in one click

  1. Open the xSpeed Cache dashboard on your site and click Connect Hub in the top bar. It opens AI & agents → MCP, where the xSpeed Hub section sits below the site’s own MCP settings.
  2. Click Connect via xSpeed Hub. xSpeed Hub opens in a new tab, carrying your admin email so account creation is one click for new users.
  3. Sign in (Google or an emailed magic link) and approve the attachment.
  4. The site now appears in your Hub dashboard, and the Hub measures it straight away so its first speed score is already there. (Local and development sites are skipped. PageSpeed cannot reach them.)

There is no token to copy anywhere in this flow; the site and the Hub exchange credentials behind the approval click.

The setup wizard’s last step, Connect to xSpeed Hub, starts the same flow right after install, so new sites can join your fleet from day one. I’ll connect later skips it; caching works fully without an account.

If the site cannot redirect: add it with a token

A firewalled or headless site may not be able to complete the redirect. Add it by hand instead:

  1. In the same xSpeed Hub section, click Can’t redirect? Add with a token instead.
  2. Copy the Site URL and Token it shows.
  3. Follow the Add site form link to xspeedcache.com and paste both.

The token is the same one the site’s own MCP connection uses. Treat it like a password.

Detaching a site

Disconnect from either side: remove the site in the Hub, or click Disconnect from Hub in the plugin’s xSpeed Hub section. Either way, the site leaves your Hub and the Hub stops reaching it. Caching on the site itself is unaffected.

FAQ

Does the Hub cache anything itself? No. It brokers control. Your pages are still cached and served by your own sites.

Is it really free? Yes, the Hub account is free. You pay nothing extra to attach sites or connect an AI client.

Can an AI client also connect to one site directly? Yes, with xSpeed Cache Site MCP. Both work at once: the direct connection reaches that one site; the Hub connection reaches every attached site.
